do it! part 1: Start

These images are a part of my project named Bottomless Pit. It is an example of a potentially infinite work that I’ve managed to bring to a conclusion. It is a collection of archival pictures spanning almost a whole decade. An inventive way to put a very inconsistent and diverse series of photographs, paintings and digital art under one cover.

I have started writing this to learn how to finish my projects. How to follow through with my creative ideas, to finally be able to enjoy the results of my art. This is, in a way, a public diary. Since my written one is focused so much on meditation on my creativity and artistic process, I am going to borrow that approach and use it here.

My goal is not to analyze and understand everything while writing this article. My goal is to fight procrastination, perfectionism and learn to limit my creative freedom. To focus and complete my projects.

One at a time, I want to deal with the enemies of the artistic process. With each step I may change my mind about the subject. Deep understanding is the goal.

I am not following a plan. I don’t have a timeline. My writing is chaotic, I can’t focus and this might be just another thing I am going to have trouble finishing.

But I believe it is going to help me understand myself better, manage my time and bring my ideas to life.
